Garden and kitchen news

Hi everyone,

I'm still here ;)  We had some busy times. Things are slowing down a bit now.
I'm spending time in the garden and in the kitchen.
This morning, this little jackdaw came to see what we were doing. So cute.

Neighbours gave us rhubarb and this is what I made with it.
An Amish rhubarb crumble.
I found the recipe on Amish 365:

It is simply delicious. Our daughter isn't very fond of rhubarb,
but she asked for more crumble.

The book I'm reading at the moment is: Planted with Hope.
Part two of the Pinecraft Pie Shop series by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore.
I love it very much and can't wait to read part three:
Sewn with Joy.
The recipes are great too.

Meanwhile in the garden:

My rambler rose Veilchenblau is flowering.
I had to cut it down by half last year.
The rose arbor I had before, broke during a storm.
On my birthday I got money for a new rose arbor.
We bought a wooden one. The last one was iron, but not that strong.
The rose has grown so much. It is bigger than last year.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

  1. Wow, what a beautiful rose. I would so love to have a rambling one like that. I now have five roses and perhaps six but I am not sure if one has died. Obviously I don't know a lot about roses. Ha ha!
